Teaching Experience

Courses Taught
 

Bowling Green State University. Scott has taught a variety of courses at BGSU while working to obtain his PhD (2014-Present). These courses include Interpersonal Communication & Interviewing (COMM 2090), Communication Theory (COMM 2010), and Introduction to Public Speaking (COMM 1020).  Additionally, Scott has been invited to guest lecture in a variety of courses, including Interpersonal Communication & Interviewing (COMM 2090), Persuasion (COMM 3030), Business & Professional Speaking (COMM 2050), and Multimedia Reporting Skills (JOUR 2550). Scott has also worked with Dr. Lisa Hanasono as her teaching assistant for Communication Theory (COMM 2010).

University of Akron. Scott also taught as a graduate teaching assistant while obtaining his Masters Degree at the University of Akron (2012-2014). During this time, Scott was the instructor of record for his first class - Introduction to Public Speaking (7600:105). Scott also worked as a teaching assistant for Survey of Communication Theory (7600:120) and Persuasion (7600: 252).

Stark State College. Scott also worked in the Mathematics department at Stark State College as a Lead Tutor while working on his Masters degree (2012-2014). In this position, Scott primarily worked with students in the modularized math courses. Additionally, Scott worked with students in upper level math courses, including Calculus, Trigonometry, and Statistics.

Muskingum University. While working on his Bachelors Degree, Scott had the opportunity to work with various faculty as a mentor in three sections of First Year Seminar. In this course, first year students attend a class taught by a professor and a student assistant designed to help ease the transition from high school to college.
